New Canon Full Frame Camera!!!

I have been checking daily to find out about and when the new Canon Full Frame Sensor camera is going to be released. I have been using my 30Ds faithfully, always wanting to move to a 5D, but could not pull the trigger knowing that a new version would be out shortly.

I know that it will cost more and ultimately it is the man/woman behind the camera that captures the light, but gosh…new toys are cool! And what better to shoot with, than the best tools money can buy! Ok, so maybe not the best, but the best this part timer can afford.

So…i know it is probably days away, but I keep checking every day. Honestly, it’s more like every 10 minutes

new iPods! oh…and iTunes 8 too!

Today Apple released new iPods. Speficically, new iPod Nano’s, iPod Classic and iPod Touch. The Nano’s look great. If I was in the market for a new mp3 player I would definitely be snatching one up soon. (I just don’t use the one I have - though my wife uses hers daily).

iTunes 8 looks promising. I don’t really have much music on my work notebook, but I look forward to updating my Mac Mini at home. The new sorting features and coverflow views look promising. I don’t quite comprehend the Genius playlists yet, but it will probably catch on once I have some music to play with.

Fall is coming!!

Today is the first day that I truly can tell that Fall is coming soon! Here in Springfield, Missouri, it seems like we have HOT summers and then only a few weeks later winter shows up on our doorsteps.

The past few days we have had record amounts of rain because of the remnants of Hurricane Gustov. My home rain gage is topped off at 5in! On the back side of that storm is a amazing cool front. This morning it was 54 degrees when I woke up and today’s high is only 71. Needless to say, I am looking forward to fall!

(LOL!! Sorry…I am already laughing and I haven’t even posted yet!)

I was about to start by saying that many of you who know me also know Jim Wellborn, but what I should TRULY say, is that Jim knows you!! Jim seems to know everyone! He has thousands of contacts in his phone. If you need someon’s info…call Jim, he’s got it!

Contact King aside, Jim and Linda are cool people. Jim is a missionary for the Assemblies of God and I had the privilage of taking a few photos for their business card. His wife Linda works at a local college and is an amazing cook. Amanda (my wife) loves going to their house with me…even if it means we are going to be taking photos! She has no doubt, Linda has something cooking! The night we showed up to take photos, she had made steak with salad, and potatoes, and rolls, and dessert. Gosh it was good. Is it lunch time yet??

Watching the Democratic National Convention

You know, after watching multiple speeches and announcements at the NDC, I have to sit back and wonder “what would be so bad if Barack Obama was elected?” What is the difference between the Republicans and the Democrats? They are both calling for change. They are both saying that they are going to cut taxes. They both say they will end the war in Iraq. Education, healthcare, and jobs are all something they keep talking about. So what is the difference? After all, what does the President actually do these modern days? Is the position simply one of face for the USA? I am starting to wonder!

Bridal Session with Lindsay Whitlock Scheele

About a month ago I had the privilage of doing a bridal session one early Saturday morning with Lindsay, Kim (mom), Bethany (sister), Amanda (my wife:)), and Kristin (assistant). It was not to bad temperature wise, but gosh was it humid!

We shot at the awesome Nathaniel Greene park here in Springfield, MO. With such a beautiful bride-to-be (congrats Kyle!!), it was difficult to not walk away with some great photos! You can check out the full gallery here.

We also shot some in my home studio. Just a few for fun…

On the weekdays, I work as a computer consultant/project coordinator for a decent sized non-profit company here in Springfield Missouri. I deal with all kinds of technology, but mostly projects related to websites and multimedia.

Even though I am completely immersed in technology each and every day, I am still amazed at how fast it changes. I am even more amazed by our dependence on the stuff. On a typical day in our house we use a Treo 750, a Samsung Blackjack, two Dell Latitude notebooks, an iPod, a Mac Mini, high resolution cameras, two home brew PC’s for photo and video rendering, webcams, multiple external drives for storage and that doesn’t include all the “taken for granted” tech that makes sure my toast doesn’t burn! It’s sick!

That said, today I start a new project here at my day job. Something new, but not all that different than I have done before. It’s not that I am scared of the newness, just a little antsy. Like a kid on the first day of school. I really don’t know what to expect?! I will be sure to update the progress here…when there is some

Wedding Albums

Albums, for some reason, they are the most difficult of all things related to photography. It’s not that I don’t like them, they are just difficult for me to focus on. I am not sure why. However…that is my goal today. To atleast finish one album!
